How to play

The loop of the game and how to play each star, in the order you reach them.

The game loop

  1. Collect Hydrogen and Credits

Miners collect Hydrogen from asteroid fields, and Transports deliver the shipments of your planets and moons for Credits. →

  2. Grow your star system

Colonize and upgrade planets, build stations and reveal new sectors with the Short Range Scanner. →

  3. Bring Artifacts from Red Stars

Search with the Red Star Scanner, destroy the Cerberus together with other players and take the Artifacts out with a Transport. →

  4. Research the Artifacts

Deposit them at the Research Station. Each one is researched automatically and gives Blueprints; the extra ones can be salvaged for income. →

  5. Upgrade Modules and ships

Blueprints are not spent: each level asks for a total you must own, plus Credits and research time. Then upgrade the ships and the Red Star Scanner to reach stronger stars with better Artifacts. →

  6. Add Blue Stars and a Corporation

Blue Stars add a daily income. A Corporation opens White Stars, whose Corporation XP gives every member benefits such as better Artifacts in Red Stars, and Quantum Stars. →

Then the loop starts again, with higher level stars.

Every day

  • Keep your Miners working: moving Transports, jumping and searching for stars all cost Hydrogen.
  • Deliver the shipments of your planets and moons, and use the Shipment Relay when you would rather save time than maximize income.
  • Keep planets, Module research and ship upgrades running.
  • Play Red Stars at the highest level you can clear, and keep the Research Station busy.
  • Play Blue Stars until the daily reward bars are full.
  • In a Corporation, agree on who goes to the next White Star, and join the flare-ups of the Quantum Star.

YELLOW STAR YELLOW STAR

This star has been assigned to you as the home base of your operations into the Hades Galaxy. Your goal here is to fully explore the star, eliminate any Cerberus forces, and build a solid economic infrastructure.

Yellow Stars contain numerous habitable planets and are great for building base infrastructure. Each Empire is assigned its own Yellow Star to establish its base of operations.

Yellow Stars are combat safe. There is no combat between player forces. Ships lost to combat against Cerberus will safely return to a colonized planet.

How to play

  1. Moving a Transport ship costs Hydrogen. Keep an eye on your total Hydrogen supply, and ensure you constantly have Miners collecting new Hydrogen from Asteroid fields.

  2. Your Miner ship will keep collecting Hydrogen until all asteroid fields on its hex sector are depleted, or until your Hydrogen capacity is full.

  3. Select your Miner. At the bottom of the screen, select the SET MINING ROUTE command. Select the sectors you want your miner to cover.

  4. Transport ships are vital to growing your economy. It's a good idea to keep at least one transport ship around each planet you have colonized.

  5. Upgrading your Planets is critical to your economy. The Planets List screen can help organize your upgrades.

  6. Expanding to new sectors in your Star System is important for maintaining a healthy economy. All new sectors will contain more asteroid fields to mine Hydrogen from, and some will contain planets you can colonize.

  7. Colonized planets can also be used to repair your ships. Colonize the planet near your damaged Battleship to start the process.

  8. Any damaged ship will slowly repair while stationary in a sector without Cerberus ships.

  9. Destroy all Cerberus ships in your star system.

  10. The SHIPMENT RELAY can be used to instantly deliver all shipments stored in a sector, for additional Hydrogen cost. Micromanaging your Transport ships for manual deliveries can still make sense if you want to maximize your daily income.

RED STAR RED STAR

Red Stars contain valuable Artifacts that can help you advance your Modules technology. Work with other players to destroy the Cerberus threat and retrieve the Artifacts from Red Star planets.

Red Stars will go Supernova when the countdown timer reaches zero. Make sure your ships have safely jumped home by then, or they will be lost. Ships docked on the returning Jumpgate will automatically jump home during the Supernova.

Red Stars are very unstable. They contain uninhabitable planets with valuable Artifacts

There is no combat between player ships in Red Stars. Ships lost to Cerberus will jump home safely. Ships lost to Supernova will be lost permanently.

How to play

  1. It's a good idea to move some ships to the Red Star Scanner while the search is in progress. That way you'll be ready to jump them immediately when the star is found, without losing valuable time.

  2. Keep an eye on your empire Hydrogen levels, to make sure you have enough to jump all your ships to the Red Star and move the Transport ships back to safety.

  3. Start a Red Star search from your Red Star scanner. Send in your Battleships and Transports to receive the required Artifacts from the planets. The Artifacts can then be brought back to your Research station where they can be salvaged.

  4. Position your undamaged Battleships in the front lines so they take most enemy fire and protect more vulnerable ships behind them.

  5. Each Artifact type matches a Module category. You may want to target planets that hold the right types of Artifacts for the Modules you are looking to unlock or upgrade.

  6. You can only have one Artifact loading on a Transport ship at a time.

  7. Red Star Hydrogen allows your Miners to activate special Modules. The collected Hydrogen cannot be returned to your Yellow Star.

  8. Destroying Cerberus ships and transporting Artifacts out of the Red Star will increase the Score Bar. Fill the bar at least until the marked Threshold to gain EMPIRE POWER from this Red Star. The Threshold will increase as you gain more EMPIRE POWER.

EMPIRE POWER is gained only by players who contribute by doing damage to Cerberus ships or by taking Artifacts. Until you contribute, the Score Bar will display faded out.

  9. Red Stars will go supernova shortly after being discovered. Make sure your ships have returned to the Jump Gate before the timer runs out, or they will be lost.

  10. Artifacts brought to this Station by Transports are automatically stored and researched, one at a time. If the Research Queue is full, the Artifact won't unload from the docked Transport until a slot is freed manually.

Higher level Artifacts give you more rewards and unlock rarer Modules. Lower level or excess Artifacts can be instantly Salvaged to boost your daily income.

  11. Upgrading your Red Star scanner is important for accessing new stars. The higher level Artifacts you find in those stars will help unlock advanced Modules.

How to play

  1. Dark Red Stars offer better Artifacts, but are harder and risky for any ships you send in. Make sure you've practiced regular Red Stars before attempting Dark Red Stars.

  2. Dark Red Stars offer a bigger challenge and more rewards. Ships destroyed in a Dark Red Star are lost forever.

  3. Enabling this setting will instantly disable Rich Artifacts in Dark Red Stars, even when you join a Dark Red Star from another dialog. Use it to control the exact timing you want your daily Dark Red Star Rich artifacts to appear.

How to play

  1. Construct a Blue Star Scanner over the Anomaly you just discovered.

  2. In a Blue Star, your Battleship will face off against other player controlled Battleships. Make sure to send your strongest Battleship, to increase the chance for victory and claim your entire daily rewards sooner.

Battleships you send to Blue Stars are not at risk of being destroyed. Your ship will always return home safely, even if you are defeated.

  3. Blue Stars are constantly collapsing. Stay within the safe area towards the center of the star. Ships caught in the collapsing red area will be instantly destroyed.

  4. Do not enter the central sector that contains the Blue Star, unless absolutely necessary. The Blue Star will deal constant damage to all ships inside its sector.

  5. The goal of the Blue Star is to survive longer than the other Battleships. Avoid engaging in combat with Cerberus ships, or use them against other players.

  6. The Battleship that survives the longest is the winner of the Blue Star mission. If the last remaining Battleships are destroyed simultaneously, the match ends in a draw and there is no winner.

  7. Equipping your Battleship with the right modules can be key to winning Blue Stars. View past replays to analyze other players' strategy, and don't be afraid to experiment with new modules.

  8. Participate in multiple Blue Stars every day, until you fill your guaranteed rewards bars. Your maximum daily rewards will increase the more you progress in the game.

Wins in a Blue Star give more rewards, helping you fill the daily bars faster.

WHITE STAR WHITE STAR

As the only source of Relics, White Stars are highly sought after by Corporations in the Hades Galaxy.

Work with your Corporation members to retrieve Relics from this dying White Star.

Use your Miners to deposit Hydrogen on Planets and generate Relics. Relics are claimed after the Transport ship carrying them jumps out of the system.

Another Corporation will be operating in this area. Battleships will open fire on ships from different Corporations.

Collect more Relics than the enemy Corporation to maximize the amount of Corporation XP awarded at the end of the match.

Join an active Corporation to participate in a White Star - a slow, tactical mode of combat and resource management. White Stars allow the team to collect Corporation XP, giving each Corporation member multiple benefits including better Artifacts in Red Stars.

How to play

  1. Before you can use the White Star Scanner, you must join a Corporation.

  2. Coordinate with your Corporation members and use your White Star scanner to join a new White Star.

  3. You can only send a small number of ships to White Stars. Your Corporation may want to discuss in advance who jumps what ship, and when.

  4. The search can take many hours. The mission will begin 12 hours after the Star is found.

  5. During the Preparation period, you can jump ships in and give them an initial move order. Ships start moving once Preparation is over.

Use this time to discuss tactics with your Corporation members. You can also schedule Future Orders for your ships, using the Time Machine.

  6. White Star planets allow Miner ships to generate Relics. Any amount of Hydrogen deposited on a White Star planet will contribute towards the generation of the next Relic. Deposit large Hydrogen amounts to generate multiple Relics at once.

Once generated, Relics are stored on the planet until picked up by Transport ships. Relics that are safely transported out of the system contribute towards your Corporation's score for this match. The Corporation with the higher amount of retrieved Relics at Supernova wins the game.

Planet efficiency at generating Relics deteriorates as more Relics are created. Aim to control multiple White Star planets to retrieve the maximum possible amount of Relics.

  7. Miner ships will create Relics by depositing Hydrogen on White Star planets. Make sure your mining operations are adequately protected against enemy fire.

  8. Your transport ships are vulnerable while they are loading Relics. Have a plan to protect them during the entire load operation.

  9. Use the Time Machine to preview combat results and see what state the system will be in once your ships arrive to their destination.

  10. If the enemy is heavily guarding a planet, think carefully if a full assault makes sense. Sometimes the right response is to focus on a different part of the map.

  11. Ships docked on the Corporation's return Stargate will automatically jump back to safety when the White Star goes Supernova.

  12. Relics retrieved by your Corporation, compared to Relics retrieved by the enemy Corporation. Collect more Relics than the enemy to win this match and get a much higher Corporation XP reward.

QUANTUM STAR QUANTUM STAR

Quantum Stars experience unstable flareups during their long lifetime. Each flareup reveals a different quantum state of the dark section of the Star, giving the Corporation a time-limited opportunity to destroy Quantum Bases, upgrade Artifacts with Quantum boosts, and obtain other resources.

Station
QUANTUM STAR GATE
Needs a planet at level

Active members needed

How to play

  1. Scan a Quantum Star to allow your Corporation members to access additional challenges and enrich Artifacts. Quantum Stars last for several months.

  2. Linking your gate to this Quantum Star will allow you to send ships, store and boost Artifacts, and participate in shared missions with other Corporation members. Linking to a Corporation's Quantum Star is a long term decision. If you later wish to change the Quantum Star you are operating in, you will have to wait through a cool down period.

  3. Bring your ship to the gate, and with the ship selected, press the JUMP button. You can only jump up to one ship of each type in a Quantum Star.

TRANSPORTS can transfer Artifacts to and from the Quantum Star. MINERS can collect Hydrogen and transfer back to your Empire, using the HYDROGEN UPLOAD module. All ship types can participate in combat during flare-ups.

Jumping ships to Quantum Stars costs Hydrogen. Ships will need to pay additional Hydrogen costs to reuse most activated modules, and to repair damage.

  4. Flare-ups happen over time and reveal a new Quantum State of the star. Each flareup lasts for 24h, during which your Corporation has a chance to destroy Quantum Bases and upgrade regular Artifacts to Quantum ones.

The Flare-up timer can be rushed with Crystals, up to 24h before the event, by any player linked to the Quantum Star. The Crystal price will double after each 3d of rushing.

  5. Each participating player is assigned one Quantum Base to destroy. When any Base is destroyed, the first eligible Artifact on ALL active Link Gates will randomly receive Quantum properties. Only Link Gates that exist when the flare-up begins will be active.

  6. Each Corporation Member that links their Quantum Star Gate to this Quantum Star automatically gets a Link Gate. Additional Link Gates increase the number of Quantum Bases spawning during Flare-ups. Destroying more Quantum Bases will enrich more Artifacts, and enable Quantum Planets to spawn more regularly.

  7. When any Quantum Base is destroyed, the first non-Quantum Artifact stored on every Link Gate will be enriched to a Quantum one. The Quantum Module and type (Dark or Light) is determined randomly.

  8. Each new flare-up recreates the Hydrogen Belt, allowing players to mine Hydrogen and return it home by using the HYDROGEN UPLOAD module. Hydrogen is instanced per player.

When all participants collectively mine more than a set amount of Hydrogen, the next Hydrogen Belt will contain more Hydrogen.

  9. After the Supernova timer elapses, the Quantum Star is immediately destroyed. All player ships and artifacts left in the system will be lost. Your Corporation will need to scan for a new Quantum Star.
